Edinburgh First, at the University of Edinburgh, is investing £1.6m in the refurbishment of its three-star, year-round hotel property, Masson House, which is situated on the Pollock Halls estate.
The two-phase development is being rolled out to update Masson House, with rooms being upgraded to reflect a sophisticated and modern design, together with the addition of new bathrooms.
The initial phase is expected to open in June 2016, with 31 high-specification twin/double rooms perfect for those with differing accommodation needs.
Christine Kelly, Head of Occupancy at Edinburgh First, said: “These exciting changes are just the start in making Masson House an ideal location for groups of businesses delegates and leisure guests.
As part of the upgrade, the hotel’s Bistro is being developed to offer delicious Scottish fayre as well as a bar area which to sit and relax. This change makes the Bistro an ideal option for dinner, with the restaurant being open for the public seven evenings a week.”
