Protecting our environment

We are committed to improving our impact on the environment and to reducing our carbon footprint. Here are some ways that you can support us:

• Switch the lights off when you leave the room and make the most of natural daylight
• Keep doors and windows closed in cold weather and don’t turn up the heating unless you really need to
• Switch off electrical equipment such as; laptops, phone and ipod/mp3 chargers when not needed
• Save water; have a shorter shower and remember to turn off the tap whilst brushing your teeth
• Use the recycling facilities on site whenever possible
• Shop locally when buying gifts or souvenirs and buy fair trade where possible
• Respect nature; help us to look after our landscape by not littering the grounds and using the footpaths responsibly
• Support Green Tourism, we are awaiting grading like many other businesses in the UK, when thinking of your next destination check out the Green Tourism Business Scheme for a list of green businesses.
