Staff from the University of Edinburgh’s Accommodation Services has pulled out all the stops over the last month in a final push to raise funds for several worthy charities before the end of the year.

A team of 14 security staff and porters (nine in photograph), known as the Marvellous Mos, got behind Movember by sporting a range of dashing moustaches and raising £1,644 for various cancer charities.

The organisation also held a Christmas Market, raising £408 for ‘The Yard’, an Edinburgh-based charity that provides a purpose-built adventure playground for children and young people with additional support needs. This fantastic effort increases the amount raised in 2013 to £4,500.

Finally, Reception Assistant, Patrick Hudson put in a fantastic effort by collecting 400 pairs of shoes for African children’s charity Kipawa International.

Chris Barnes, Director of Business Development at Accommdation Services, said: “We are fortunate to have staff wholeheartedly committed to supporting a number of worthy causes. There has been a sterling effort by everyone involved this year and I’m confident we will continue to build on this in 2014 and also in the years ahead.”
